Friday Five

In uber-exciting news, my good friend Andrea Lynn Colt is self-publishing a book!

Andrea's novel TORCHED will be out on Monday, September 10th, and I couldn't be happier! When I first read TORCHED last year, I simply inhaled it in one sitting. I'm not kidding. I sat on my sofa and opened up the Word document, thinking I'd flip through a few chapters...and I didn't get up until I finished the whole thing! It was so good and so funny and so very awesome.

Congrats, Andrea! Also, be sure to check out the first chapter here

In semi-political news...

I cannot wait until this election is over. No more ads! No more mud-slinging! No more half-truths and spin-doctors and Facebook-fighting! Urghhh, Facebook. I'm just going to hide in this box until November.

In reading news, I'm heading out to visit Justin in a few days (he's in Indianapolis for business) and I already have this puppy loading on my Kindle for my flight.

The premise? The novel follows a character known only as "A" who wakes up every day in a different person's body. I read a few sample pages on Amazon and I'm already hooked!

Hmm, I'm drawing a blank on what else to blog about.

How about a picture of some delicious tomatoes that I saw at the farmer's market? That's what you guys really want, huh? Tomato porn? Well, here you go!

Lastly, in Labor Day news, what are your plans? As for me, I'd love to find a quaint bench like this one and read and nap and cloud-watch for hours. No political ads allowed!

  1. I'm trying to be good and like keep up with election stuff since, you know, being an educated voter is important. BUT it keeps pissing me off, so I stop. :P

I'm intrigued by Every Day too, and I did especially enjoy The Lover's Dictionary. So I'll probably pick this one up eventually. Do let me know if you like it!

Have a great Labor Day weekend! I'm hopefully writing, sleeping, reading (so behind), and celebrating some birthdays. :)

  2. Aw thanks for spotlighting me!! :) Also, is there room in that box for me to hide from political campaigns with you? lol

  3. I'll be sleeping this weekend, hoping to recover from the flu. I haven't heard of Every Day, sounds really interesting.

  4. We also have political adds out the wazoo! and don't get me started with facebook. I'm taking a break from that mess.

Thankfully we don't have anything going on this weekend except for an easy simple pot luck block party.

That bench reminds me of the one in Knotting Hill. Wanna go to London with me? We can find a little park and have a fantastic picnic.

Have a great time in Indy and give J a kiss from us and the kids!

  5. so pretty post! :P :)
'Every day' seems like a great book! i think i'll buy it! :)
