about me

In early 2006, I started this blog to chronicle my first real job at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. I was a lowly assistant. But I had fun. Thus the name, "Adventures in Space."

Nowadays, I work as a freelance writer--a job I love as much as cupcakes. My work has been featured in publications like the Baltimore Sun, Highlights, USAToday.com, and Hotels.com. I also write middle grade and young adult novels, and am represented by Jim McCarthy of Dystel & Goderich.

I grew up in the Washington, DC area and, after stints in Utah and North Carolina, I'm proud to call DC home again. (National Gallery! Cherry blossoms! Georgetown Cupcake!) In my free time, I like to read awesome books, watch Top Chef, shop at Anthropologie, and hang out with my fabulous husband.

I do not like pancakes, waffles, French toast, or any other foods smothered in maple syrup. But I do love new readers of my blog.

Welcome!
