First of all, happy new year!
I hadn't planned on writing a 2012 retrospective (too lazy! too much TV to watch!) but then I got inspired by this lovely post and then this one. So here you have it, a yearly recap of 2012 on the first day of 2013. Procrastination, thy name is Caroline!
Looking back, 2012 had its share of ups and downs. We were very lucky to have traveled to new places (usually my passport gathers dust in a locked drawer); but it was a year of trials too, from mourning my sister-in-law's passing to stitching together our lives after her death. Still, I think we're getting stronger day by day, week after week--and that's something to be thankful for.
I'm looking forward to 2013. A new year. New possibilities. New opportunities. Whatever happens, I hope I face it with courage, with humility, with a heaping spoonful of good humor. And with Justin by my side, of course! That man is a rock. The very best kind of rock. :)
So here's to 2013, come what may. Let's do this!
